AMIGANTT version 3.00.05
Read.me File
Enclosed on this disk is version 3.00.05 of AMIGANTT, a simple project
definition and management tool developed for the Amiga (TM). Please read
through this file and the documentation file before beginning to use the
program.
This is the 3rd general release of AmiGantt, available to registered users
and other shareware afficianatoes. Thanks to Lattice Inc. and their version
5.0 C compiler, many new features of have been added while maintaining the
size of the program to still less than 100K! As this is a fairly major
enhancement to the program, I have increased the shareware cost of becoming
a registered user to $20.00 (Hope this doesn't scare anyone off)
To those of you who have been waiting for a new release of the program, my
apologies for taking almost 6 months to get version 3.00.00 out the door.
As you will see, the interface has changed quite drastically and it was a real
bearcat getting the graphic printouts to work properly. My thanks for your
patience.

sending your name and address plus $20.00 to the author. Registered users
may also receive a copy of the source for the program, if they desire, at no
additional cost.

Notice:
Version 2.01.00 and above of AmiGantt makes use of functions within the
ARP (AmigaDos Replacement Program) library. This library must be installed
in the LIBS directory of your system disk before attempting to use
AmiGantt 3.00.04. A copy of arp.library file is included on the disk and
should be copied to LIBS:, then re-boot your Amiga before using AmiGantt
3.00.04
(ARP library is used/distributed with permission of the ARP developers.)
Contents of the disk:
Main Directory
AmiGantt -- the main program, which can be run from CLI or Workbench
AmiGantt.info-- an icon file (for Workbench access) which should be renamed
to AMIGANTT.info
Text Directory
AMIGANTT.doc -- the full documentation set for AMIGANTT
READ.ME -- this file
Changes3.doc -- things that were specifically changed in version 3.00.02
Libs Directory
arp.library -- library file for ARP functions used in AmiGantt which
should be copied to the LIBS: directory
Fonts Directory
Gantt.font -- 6-point font file used in the Pert Diagram (optional, but
it does provide more information)
Gantt directory
6 -- font definition file
These two should be copied to your FONTS: directory
Source Directory
All the source files used in AmiGantt 3.00.04
The .lmk file is the Lattice Make file I use to create AmiGantt
Known Anomolies:
1. The Pert Chart is generated by starting at the last task in the project
(denoted by the latest starting date) and working backwards through the
dependency network. If you have tasks which are not connected in some
way to the last task, then they will not show up on the Pert Chart.
2. Although the top line in a Pert Chart is normally the critical path, for
ease of display, AmiGantt puts the path with the greatest number of tasks
at the top of the Pert. In most cases, this will also be the critical
but not always. The Sort on Critical Path and Identify Critical Path
options work correctly, selecting the path which has the longest planned
duration.
Bug Reports: Encouraged and welcomed. Please address any comments to the
author at any of the addresses above.
PLEASE READ THE BUGS AND CHANGES FILE BEFORE PROCEEDING TO USE THIS
NEW VERSION OF AMIGANTT. Thank you for your support.
